2012 Recommendations

Vision

God’s best plan for City Crisis CARE includes active participation of local Churches.

 

Purpose

To serve as a non-profit resource for Chaplains, Churches and Emergency Services Personnel involved in City Crisis CARE.

 

Mission

To offer on-scene crisis response; benevolence support; Chaplain & Church networking; and Critical Incident Stress Management.

1.  On-scene crisis response includes Crisis CARE services and referrals.

2.  Benevolence support includes goods, services and limited financial aid for crisis survivors.

3.  Chaplain & Church networking includes training, promoting, connecting and facilitating local Crisis CARE services.

4.  Critical Incident Stress Management includes training, leadership, Crisis CARE and limited benevolence support for all First Responders.

 

City Crisis CARE - Compassion Acceptance Reflection Encouragement

City Crisis CARE services include practical, emotional, relational and spiritual support of individuals, families, organizations and the community.

 

Values

1.  Judeo-Christian practices consistent with the life & teachings of Jesus Christ

2.  Bible, prayer, and good mental health science & practices

3.  Local Church community participation in City Crisis CARE

4.  Chaplains who are sent by their local Church and who are appointed by their local Police / Fire Chief

5.  Crisis CARE partnerships which include shared resources, risks and rewards

6.  Maintaining a state of Crisis Response Readiness

7.  On-going Crisis CARE training and networking

8.  City Crisis CARE includes the Ministry of Presence and the Gift of Availability, both of which require a flexible schedule, and at times, personal sacrifice

9.  City Crisis CARE includes "searching for the lost, bringing back the strays, binding up the injured, and strengthen the weak"  (Ezekiel 34:16)

10. City Crisis CARE is living according to Jesus' Parable of The Good Samaritan  (Luke 10:25-37)

Funding

City Chaplain is a faith-based 501(c)3 non-profit service organization.  We are funded by tax-deductible donations from individuals, churches, foundations, businesses and organizations, plus honorariums and fees for speaking and services rendered.
